What We Believe

WHAT WE BELIEVE AND GUIDED PRINCIPLES
- We believe that true liberation for women and girls can only come through collective feminist action, rooted in the lived realities of our communities.
- We are guided by the principles of intersectional feminism, which recognizes how multiple forms of oppression such as gender, age, ethnicity, class, and displacement intersect to shape the experiences of young women and girls in our region.
- We center the leadership of those most affected by injustice, particularly survivors of gender-based violence, girls living in rural and pastoralist communities, and those displaced by conflict or climate change.
- We believe that activism must be both radical and compassionate. We confront harmful cultural practices like female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage, and domestic violence through community education, survivor-led public advocacy and awareness-raising campaigns, behavioral change and intergenerational dialogue. Our work is grounded in a feminist ethic of care because we know that resistance without healing is unsustainable.
