What We Do
WHAT WE DO
01.
BUILDING FEMINIST MOVEMENT
We reach out, mobilize, and connect young women and girls in feminist solidarity, so we can build strong feminist movement in Somali Regional State, Ethiopia who can collectively advocate for their rights, and challenge the status quo.
02.
BUILDING LEADERSHIP CAPACITY
We provide leadership development for girls and young women to build their confidence, advocacy skills, and understanding of feminist principles. These trainings equip emerging leaders to speak up in schools, communities, and public forums, pushing for inclusive policies and gender justice.
03.
COMBATTING GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE (GBV)
We facilitate community dialogues with women, elders, youth, and religious leaders in Jigjiga and nearby rural areas to break the silence around GBV, including early marriage, domestic violence, and female genital mutilation (FGM). These dialogues create safe, inclusive spaces to challenge harmful gender norms and educate communities on women’s rights, legal protections, and survivor-centered approaches.
04.
ADVOCACY AND PUBLIC MOBILIZATION
We are active in advocating for women’s rights. We organize or participate in International Women’s Day, 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, and climate justice actions to raise visibility around the unique challenges facing women and girls in our region. Our advocacy reach both local and regional audiences through radio, social media, and community events.
